THIS SHY SNAIL
van Gogh's His Room At Arles
No one regards
the privacy of snails

and constantly knock
our private shells

look in our windows,
snoop in our Bazaar
(of untidy wares) and

in particular:

insist on being let in
to smell the place

Then they can laugh
right in our FACE
with cool aplomb

(There's little room
elsewhere--I assume--
to warmly do it from.)
