CCCXXIV
Monet's His Garden AT Giverny
The Flower abjures
th'Afternoon

dying in conjectures
of perfumes strewn

as if disowned

& does not go to The Middle court
to repudiate or thwart
whatever Th'Voids claim their own

But, when the night
has hidden her from sight

impertinent: She doubles to the ground

by None there to be found

exponent of no earthly Right

bound to no heavenly Law
but her own sweet despite.
